The books will boost children's spelling skills by providing them with strategies to help them spell and read unfamiliar words, including breaking down words by syllables, memory joggers and using rhyming patterns. Targeted dictation exercises provide opportunity for reinforcement and consolidation.

This book, Boost Spelling Skills 1, is designed for use in Year 2 but can be used with older children who are struggling with spelling. It follows the Letters and Sounds guidelines for Phases 2-6 and explores high frequency key words, specific letter patterns, suffix endings and key spelling rules.
