Before his death, Scudder informed Hannay of a German conspiracy to destabilise Europe. Spurred on by this shocking revelation, Hannay flees to Scotland in hope of foiling the plot, with the help of fiery suffragette, Victoria Sinclair (Lydia Leonard).
