Description: THE SENTINEL Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Gil Mellé. "The Sentinel" is a 1977 American supernatural horror film directed by Michael Winner (Death Wish, Death Wish II). At the center of the plot is a young model (Cristina Raines) who moves into a historic Brownstone building in Brooklyn divided into apartments, only to then find out that the building belongs to the Catholic Diocese and is a gateway to hell. The film features early acting roles of several now-known actors such as Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum and John Carradine. After a series of supernatural horror films such as Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist and The Omen, The Sentinel is based on the 1974 novel of the same name by Jeffrey Konvitz. Unlike other films of his time dealing with occult themes, "The Sentinel" offers strong images and depictions of creatures from hell as found in the works of Dante's Inferno, Christopher Marlowe and the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch. We are thrilled to release THE SENTINEL Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on vinyl for the first time. Features "Gateway to Hell" metallic gold on vinyl in the color Black Smoke, artwork by Robert Sammelin, heavy gatefold packaging with matte satin finish, and a 12" x 12" art print.
