In 'Kamp Krusty', Bart and Lisa go to Krusty the Clown's summer camp, Kamp Krusty, but are dismayed to find that Krusty himself is not in attendance. Marge is feeling unappreciated and sidelined by her family in 'A Streetcar Named Marge', and decides to audition for the lead role in 'Oh Streetcar!', a musical version of 'A Streetcar Named Desire'. She gets the part despite Homer's lack of encouragement, and the whole family goes along to see the show. 'Homer the Heretic' sees Homer skiving off church and getting into all sorts of trouble, from nearly burning the house down to starting his own religion and having to be saved by Ned Flanders and his family. In 'Lisa the Beauty Queen', the Simpsons go to a carnival, where Lisa has a makeover and ends up being Little Miss Springfield. But when she realises the event is supported by a cigarette company, she speaks out for her beliefs, and promptly loses her newly-gained crown. 'Tree House of Horror III: The Simpsons Halloween Special' follows three scary Halloween stories told by Lisa, Grandpa and Bart, 'Clown Without Pity', 'King Homer' and 'Dial Z For Zombie'. In 'Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie', Homer and Marge attend the parents' evening at Bart and Lisa's school. Homer speaks to Lisa's teacher and hears what a model pupil she is, but Marge, who speaks to Bart's teacher, is regaled with horror stories about his behaviour. Meanwhile, Bart is playing up at home and Homer vows to punish him by stopping him from seeing the long-awaited movie of 'Itchy and Scratchy'. The Simpsons are having financial troubles in 'Marge Gets a Job'. The foundations of their house have subsided and Homer's attempts to sort it out with DIY backfire. So Marge applies to work at the power plant where the boss, Mr Burns, soon develops a crush on her. Bart falls in love with his new neighbour in 'New Kid on the Block', only to find out that she already has a boyfriend, while Homer eats so much food in an 'all-you-can-eat' buffet that the restaurant throws him out on the street. In 'Mr Plow', Homer gets talked into buying a snow plow by a smooth-talking car salesman. But his new business causes all kinds of trouble, until God thaws out Springfield and puts a stop to the chaos. 'Lisa's First Word' flashes back to Lisa's babyhood, when Bart was horribly jealous of his new baby sister despite the fact that she adored him to such an extent that her first word was 'Bart'. 'Homer's Triple Bypass' sees Homer in dire straits after suffering a heart attack and realising he has neither health insurance nor funds to pay for the heart surgery he needs. Then he remembers a TV ad in which Dr Nick Riviera promises to cahrge only $129.95 for any operation. In 'Marge vs the Monorail', a con artist sells a monorail sytem to the residents of Springfield, and Homer and Bart end up having to save the passengers when the system starts running and proves to be life-threateningly dangerous. 'Selma's Choice' sees Selma taking Bart and Lisa on an outing to Duff Gardens, an alcohol-based theme park. When Bart is nearly killed and Lisa gets drunk, Selma decides her recent ideas about becoming a mother may be misguided, and gets herself a pet iguana instead. Bart finds a new father figure, Tom, through the Bigger Brothers agency in 'Brother From the Same Planet', making Homer so jealous that he goes out and gets himself a new 'little brother' in revenge. Meanwhile, Lisa has become addicted to phoning a 900 number. 'I Love Lisa' sees Lisa sending Ralph a Valentine out of pity, then getting infuriated when he starts following her around. In 'Duffless', Homer is banned from driving for 30 days when he gets caught drink-driving, and is made to watch anti-drink-driving films and attend AA meetings. 'Last Exit to Springfield' sees Mr Burns taking on the union at the power plant and trying to get rid of the costly dental plan for employees. Meanwhile, Lisa is told she needs braces, and Homer leads the workers in a strike resulting in power being cut off from the city. One of Bart's pranks leads to the house blowing up in 'So It Has Come To This: The Simpsons Clip Show', and Homer ends up in a coma, with a series of clips showing past blows to his head - and a montage of 32 'D'ohs!' In 'The Front', Bart and Lisa decide to write some new episodes for the 'Itchy and Scratchy' show, which has been getting a little stale. They have to use a grown-up's name, so they choose Grandpa. He wins an award, but refuses to accept it when he discovers how violent the show is. 'Whacking Day' charts the approach of a Springfield holiday, Whacking Day, which involves killing snakes with sticks. Lisa is horrified by the cruelty of this and she and Bart enlist the help of Barry White to lure the snakes out of town for the day. In 'Marge in Chains', Marge accidentally shoplifts while shopping for her family who are all laid up at home with flu. She ends up in prison for 30 days, leaving Homer in charge of the home and kids. 'Krusty Gets Cancelled' sees Gabbo, a ventriloquist dummy, beating Krusty in the network ratings, leaving Krusty without a job. Bart and Lisa come to his aid, asking Krusty's celebrity friends, including Bette Midler, Hugh Hefner, Elizabeth Taylor and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to rally round for a comeback special.
