British adaptation of the E. Nesbit novel. When three American children spend the summer in their grandparents' stately home in England they grow increasingly bored by their surroundings. However, following the discovery of a talking phoenix (voice of Peter Ustinov), they embark on the adventure of a lifetime as they discover a carpet that is capable of transporting them anywhere in the world.
