Everybody thinks I have the perfect life: a beautiful house, a loving marriage to a gorgeous man, good friends. But still waters run deep. Back in college I dreamed of becoming an investigative journalist, but that all changed when my best friend disappeared. After Claire went missing, all I wanted was a quiet life.


I gave up my dream of writing the big headlines and I married Howard. And he's done so well; he's just sold his business for more money than we ever could have imagined. It's the perfect time to think about the rest of our lives.



I tell him that the beautiful new housing development I've found in the breathtaking Colorado mountains is the perfect fresh start. A chance for us to really reconnect.


But that's not the real reason. I can't tell him that I've uncovered a disturbing link between our new dream home and a long line of missing girls. Or how these disappearances are eerily similar to what happened to Claire . . .
