Directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and produced by J.C.Staff, A Certain Scientific Railgun follows Mikoto Misaka, one of Academy Citys most powerful espers. Together with Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu and Ruiko Saten, she becomes involved in cases connected to illegal experiments, criminal ability users and the hidden forces operating behind the citys scientific institutions. Based on the manga by Kazuma Kamachi and Motoi Fuyukawa, the anime combines science-fiction action and superpowered battles with conspiracies surrounding Academy City and Mikotos electromagnetic abilities.
