Directed by Fuminori Kizaki and produced by Gonzo, Afro Samurai features Samuel L. Jackson as a swordsman pursuing Justice, voiced by Ron Perlman, after witnessing his fathers murder. Based on Takashi Okazakis manga, the five-part anime combines violent samurai action, revenge and stylised sword fighting in a world shaped by the struggle for the Number One headband. RZAs hip-hop score is integrated into the series fusion of Japanese warrior imagery and modern urban style.
