Directed by Roger Vadim and starring Jane Fonda, Barbarella Queen of the Galaxy (1968) is a science fiction adventure based on the French comic series by Jean-Claude Forest. Set in a distant future, the film follows the space traveler Barbarella as she embarks on a mission across the galaxy to stop a dangerous scientist. Combining pop-art production design with late-1960s European sci-fi aesthetics, the film has become a recognizable cult title within classic science fiction cinema.
