Joseph Cedars Beaufort is a tense Israeli war drama set during the final months of the IDFs withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000. Centered on young soldiers stationed at the historic Beaufort fortress under constant threat from Hezbollah attacks, the film explores psychological strain, moral uncertainty, and the futility of holding a doomed outpost. It was Israels official Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language Film.
