Castle Keep (1969), directed by Sydney Pollack, follows a group of American soldiers stationed in a medieval Belgian castle during the final stages of World War II. As they prepare for an approaching German advance, the soldiers form unusual attachments to the castle and its inhabitants, blending wartime tension with surreal and reflective elements. The film adapts William Eastlakes novel and presents an unconventional perspective on wartime experience.

Från IMDB:
During the Battle of the Bulge, an anachronistic count shelters a ragtag squad of Americans in his remote 10th Century castle hoping a battle against the advancing Germans will not lead to the destruction of the castle and all within.
