Commentationes de Nummis Saeculorum IX–XI in Suecia repertis. Nova Series 19 This volume is the proceedings of a Symposium organised by the National Museum of Denmark in 2007 at the Danish Institute in Damascus. Scholars from the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe and North America met during three days and exchanged their research on Islamic coinages of the 8th–11th centuries. These are the formative centuries of the Islamic coinage, but also a time when Islamic silver coins were exported in huge quantities via Russia, Ukraine, Belarus to the Viking World. Thus, it is a field of scientific dialogue between the countries where the coins were produced and the countries they were exported to. This volume presents a few aspects of this huge topic.

Commentationes de Nummis Saeculorum IX–XI in Suecia repertis. Nova Series 19 Denna volym rymmer bidrag från ett symposium organiserat av Danmarks Nationalmuseum år 2007 på Danska Institutet i Damaskus. Forskare från Mellanöstern, Centralasien, Europa och Nordamerika träffades under tre dagar och delade sina resultat om islamiska mynt från 700- till 1000-talen. Det är de formativa århundraden för det islamiska myntsystemet, men också en tid när islamiska silvermynt exporterades i stora mängder via Ryssland, Ukraina, Belarus till Östersjö- och Nordsjöområdena. Därför är det ett område för vetenskaplig dialog mellan länderna där mynten producerades och länderna till vilka mynten exporterades. Denna volym presenterar några aspekter av detta stora ämne.
