Directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve, Deathtrap follows struggling playwright Sidney Bruhl after he receives an exceptionally promising thriller script from a former student. What begins as a possible scheme to steal the play develops into an increasingly elaborate game of murder, deception and shifting loyalties inside Bruhls isolated home. Based on Ira Levins stage play, the film mixes suspense with black comedy and repeated reversals.
