Directed by Guy Hamilton, Funeral in Berlin (1966) stars Michael Caine, Paul Hubschmid, Oskar Homolka and Eva Renzi. Based on the book by Len Deighton, the film follows British intelligence agent Harry Palmer as he travels to Berlin to help a Soviet officer defect to the West, only to become entangled in a web of espionage, deception and hidden agendas. Set against the backdrop of the Cold War and the divided city of Berlin, the story combines spy fiction with intrigue and double-crosses.
