Robin Williams stars in this comedy directed by Barry Levinson. When Airman Adrian Cronauer (Williams) arrives in Saigon in 1965 to work as a DJ for the Armed Forces Radio Service, he is tasked with boosting morale. Although his show is an immediate hit with the troops, his irreverent humour and musical choices soon offend his superiors, Lieutenant Steven Hauk (Bruno Kirby) and Sergeant Major Phillip Dickerson (J.T. Walsh). Meanwhile, his relationship with Trinh (Chintara Sukapatana), a Vietnamese woman, and her brother Tuan (Tung Thanh Tran) leads to trouble... The cast also includes Forest Whitaker and Robert Wuhl.
