Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, Gurren Lagann the Movie: Childhoods End is the first theatrical film version of the Japanese TV anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Tetsuya Kakihara, Katsuyuki Konishi, Marina Inoue and Yukari Fukui lead the voice cast in a large-scale mecha anime story about underground life, rebellion, drill-powered robots and escalating battles. The film reworks material from the 2007 series with re-recorded dialogue and added scenes.

Tetsuya Kakihara, Katsuyuki Konishi, Marina Inoue and Yukari Fukui return in a large-scale mecha anime story where the conflict expands from rebellion and underground survival to cosmic-scale battles. The film reworks the later part of the 2007 series and continues the Gainax anime franchise.
