Directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile and starring Franco Nero and David Hess, Hitch-Hike follows a married couple whose road trip turns into a violent nightmare after picking up a dangerous hitchhiker in the desert. Combining psychological tension, exploitation violence and road-based suspense, the film centers on manipulation, humiliation and escalating brutality within an isolated travel setting. Hitch-Hike became associated with the darker side of 1970s Italian thriller and exploitation cinema.
