Directed by Li Liming, Ip Man: Kung Fu Master stars Dennis To as Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man in a standalone martial-arts film set before the Communist Revolution in 1949. Yuan Li Ruoxin, Tong Xiaohu and Yue Dongfeng co-star in a story involving Ip Mans work as a police officer, local corruption, opium trafficking and martial-arts conflict. The film connects the Ip Man screen tradition with Chinese kung-fu action, Wing Chun combat and period crime elements.
