Directed by Brian G. Hutton, Kellys Heroes stars Clint Eastwood as an American soldier who discovers that a fortune in German gold is hidden behind enemy lines during World War II. Kelly recruits an unlikely group of soldiers, including Telly Savalas, Don Rickles and Donald Sutherland, for an unauthorized mission to steal it. Combining battlefield action with a large-scale heist and irreverent wartime comedy, the film turns a military operation into a pursuit of personal profit.
