Directed by Richard Donner, Lethal Weapon stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as mismatched Los Angeles detectives Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh. Written by Shane Black, the film follows the two cops as a murder investigation leads into drug smuggling, ex-military criminals and escalating action. The film helped define the modern buddy-cop action comedy, combining police crime, explosive set pieces and the contrasting chemistry between Gibson and Glover.
