Man on Fire (2004) follows a former operative hired to protect a young girl in Mexico City, whose violent abduction triggers a relentless campaign of revenge. The film depicts a descent into brutality driven by guilt, trauma, and moral absolutism. Its style is aggressive and fragmented, prioritizing emotional intensity and physical retaliation over suspense or investigation. The narrative is defined by punishment rather than rescue.
