Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, Matador stars Assumpta Serna, Antonio Banderas, Nacho Martínez and Carmen Maura in a Spanish thriller about desire, death, guilt and erotic obsession. The film follows a former bullfighter, a murder confession and a dangerous connection between violence and sexuality. It is an early Almodóvar film for customers looking for Spanish cinema, erotic thriller elements and dark psychological crime drama.

When a young torero confesses to a series of violent crimes he hasnt committed, secret kinks and desires come to light, sparking dangerous new connections between a bullfighting teacher, a powerful female lawyer, an overprotected actress, and a well-meaning psychiatrist. Love and death shockingly intertwine in Pedro Almodóvars heady mix of baroque romance, grisly horror, and pitch black comedy. Inspired by King Vidors epic western of sensual passion Duel in the Sun, Matador is among the Spanish directors sexiest, most provocative films, a striking look at the roots of lust and violence.

A matador is wounded by a bull and can no longer kill in the arena. It is just one of the problems of one of the characters that unexpectedly collide in this film.
