Directed by Academy Award winner Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) expands the Disney franchise by exploring the origin story of Mufasa before he became king of the Pride Lands. Featuring a voice cast led by Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr., the film traces his early life, relationships, and rise to leadership. Continuing the photorealistic visual style introduced in the 2019 adaptation, the story blends epic themes of destiny and family with musical storytelling. The film builds on one of Disneys most internationally recognized animated properties.
