Jim Jarmuschs Mystery Train (1989) is an anthology-style film set in Memphis, following three loosely connected stories unfolding over the same night. The film stars Youki Kudoh, Masatoshi Nagase, and Joe Strummer, and reflects Jarmuschs minimalist storytelling approach. Music, particularly the legacy of Elvis Presley, plays a central role in linking the narratives. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received the Best Artistic Contribution award.
