Platoon is an American Vietnam War drama directed by Oliver Stone, based on his own experiences as a combat infantryman. The film follows a young soldier caught between two opposing moral forces within his platoon, as jungle warfare, violence, and internal conflict strip away any illusions of heroism. Platoon won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director, and remains one of the most influential and uncompromising portrayals of the Vietnam War.

Från IMDB:
Chris Taylor, a neophyte recruit in Vietnam, finds himself caught in a battle of wills between two sergeants, one good and the other evil. A shrewd examination of the brutality of war and the duality of man in conflict.
