Directed by Fred Schepisi, Roxanne (1987) stars Steve Martin, Daryl Hannah and Rick Rossovich. Based on Edmond Rostands play Cyrano de Bergerac, the film follows witty fire chief C.D. Bales, whose intelligence and kindness are overshadowed by his unusually large nose as he helps another man win the affection of the woman he secretly loves. Combining romance and comedy, the story explores love, self-esteem and the fear of revealing ones true feelings.
