Directed by Woody Allen, Shadows and Fog is a black-and-white homage to German Expressionism, set in a nameless European city haunted by fear and suspicion. Featuring Mia Farrow and John Malkovich, the film blends absurdist comedy with noir-influenced paranoia as a community reacts to rumors of a serial killer. Stylized and deliberately artificial, the film stands as one of Allens most experimental works.
