Directed by Hayley Easton Street, Something in the Water (2024) stars Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle and Natalie Mitson. Five friends reunite for a wedding in the Caribbean, but a day trip to a remote island turns into a nightmare when their boat sinks and they are left stranded in shark-infested waters. Combining survival elements with emotional drama and shark attacks, the film belongs to a more serious and character-driven branch of modern shark cinema.
