Want to create decorative wooden keepsakes without breaking a sweat? Expert designer Katja Falkenburger shows you everything you need to know about stamping wood by hand. The only tools you need are chisels, stamps, and a mallet.

Wood stamping is exciting because, unlike metal or paper, wood does not offer a uniform background; the natural design elements found in wood, such as grain, color gradients, cracks, or annual rings, can be incorporated into your stamped-wood creations. This book focuses on stamping techniques that will inspire you to make your own stamped creations that bring out the inherent beauty of your wood.

The book covers

• stamping tools;
• types of wood and how well they stamp;
• 10+ stamping techniques, including vertical, angled, cut, and press stamping;
• using templates and outlines for your designs;
• how the texture, grain, and color of your wood influences your designs; and
• finishing treatments and techniques.

By following the techniques outlined in this comprehensive volume, you’ll be able to create your own stamped-wood craft and enhance the beauty of any wooden object!
