Directed by Gen Sekiguchi, Survive Style 5+ weaves together five bizarre stories that gradually collide in increasingly surreal and violent ways. Tadanobu Asano plays a man repeatedly confronted by the wife he has tried to kill, while other strands involve a hypnotist, a family man convinced he is a bird, eccentric burglars and a British hitman played by Vinnie Jones. The film combines black comedy, absurd fantasy and stylised violence in a deliberately unpredictable anthology-like structure.
