Based on Kore Yamazakis manga, The Ancient Magus Bride follows Chise Hatori, a lonely teenager who enters the world of the mysterious mage Elias Ainsworth and discovers that she possesses an unusual affinity for magic. Their life together brings Chise into contact with faeries, dragons, ancient spirits and dangerous supernatural forces drawn from European folklore. Across two seasons, the anime combines dark fantasy, folklore and an unconventional developing relationship while expanding from Eliass isolated home into a wider magical community and school environment.
