In the wake of The Exorcist, Italian cinema produced its own infamous entry into the possession cycle. The Antichrist (1974) follows a young woman crippled by trauma who becomes host to demonic forces, unleashing shocking blasphemous visions and violent acts. Saturated with Catholic imagery, exorcism rituals, and grotesque spectacle, this Euro-horror classic blends Gothic atmosphere with 1970s extremity, standing as one of the most notorious Italian possession films of its era.

Från IMDB:
A paralyzed young woman becomes possessed by the Devil when a hypnosis session - intended to heal her disability - accidentally awakens memories of her past life as a witch.
