Alberto De Martino writes and directs this low-budget 1970s Italian occult horror. Carla Gravina stars as Ippolita, a paralysed woman who becomes possessed by the spirit of a witch and commits murder. The family housekeeper Irene (Alida Valli) enlists the help of a local man to try and save her but when he fails, the Vatican sends Father Mittner (George Coulouris) to perform an exorcism and put an end to the madness.
