The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez, The Blair Witch Project follows three film students who venture into a Maryland forest to document local folklore and slowly lose their grip on direction, safety, and reality. The film blends found-footage immediacy with improvisational performances to create an atmosphere of rising dread. Its minimalist approach, ambiguity, and cultural impact helped redefine modern horror.

Blair Witch (2016)

Directed by Adam Wingard, Blair Witch returns to the legend as a new group enters the same woods in search of answers tied to the original disappearance. The film blends updated found-footage techniques with escalating nocturnal terror, shifting from documentary curiosity to full psychological breakdown. Its renewed focus on disorientation, sound, and unseen threats brings the mythos into a more contemporary horror framework.
