Italian gothic horror The Doll of Satan (1969) mixes eerie castles, dark family secrets, and an atmosphere of dread. Following a woman who inherits a sinister mansion, the film blends mystery, supernatural suggestion, and gothic terror in classic Euro-horror style.

After her uncle dies unexpectedly, Elizabeth Balljanon inherits his sprawling castle. The walls are crumbling, the electricity doesnt work and theres a fully equipped torture chamber in the cellars but interior decoration is the least of her worries: a black-gloved killer haunts the halls at night and, even worse, the tales shes been told about the castles ghosts might not be stories after all...

Part giallo, part modern-dress Gothic, The Doll of Satan is a gloriously ripe slice of Italian horror, heady with atmosphere and steamy eroticism too. 88 Films are very proud to present this rediscovered genre gem in the UK for the very first time.
