Directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, I, the Executioner reunites Hwang Jung-min with the veteran detective Seo Do-cheol as he investigates a series of vigilante killings targeting criminals who escaped justice. Joined by rookie officer Park Sun-woo, played by Jung Hae-in, the Major Crimes team races to identify a serial killer whose actions have gained public support online. Premiering in the Midnight Screenings section at the Cannes Film Festival, this Korean crime thriller combines police investigations, action and social tensions surrounding justice and vigilantism.
