Directed by Peter Jackson, The Frighteners stars Michael J. Fox as Frank Bannister, a fake paranormal investigator who can actually see ghosts. Trini Alvarado, Dee Wallace and Jeffrey Combs co-star in a supernatural horror comedy where small-town murders, restless spirits and a Grim Reaper-like figure pull Frank into a darker mystery. The film connects Peter Jacksons pre-Lord of the Rings genre work with ghost horror, dark comedy and 1990s cult cinema.
