Directed by Tommy Lee Jones and based on the novel by Glendon Swarthout, The Homesman stars Hilary Swank and Tommy Lee Jones in a frontier drama set in the American Midwest during the 1850s. The film follows a woman transporting three mentally troubled settlers across harsh prairie territory with the help of a drifter she rescues from execution. Combining western storytelling with psychological and historical drama, the cast also includes Meryl Streep and Hailee Steinfeld.
