The Ladykillers (1955) is a classic British crime comedy directed by Alexander Mackendrick, following a group of criminals whose carefully planned robbery unravels in increasingly absurd ways. Starring Alec Guinness in a celebrated eccentric performance, the film contrasts meticulous criminal plotting with dry British humor and moral irony. Widely regarded as one of the finest Ealing Studios productions, it blends crime mechanics with sharply observed comedy.
