The Sacrifice, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, is a metaphysical drama about a man who vows to give up everything he loves in order to prevent an impending nuclear catastrophe. Set in an isolated seaside home, the film unfolds as a spiritual and psychological trial confronting faith, fear, and moral responsibility. It is Tarkovskys final film and one of his most austere meditations on belief and sacrifice.
