The Summer with Carmen, directed by Zacharias Mavroeidis, is a Greek romantic comedy-drama about two gay friends who look back on a turbulent summer at a public beach in Athens while one of them develops a screenplay based on their shared memories. As past relationships, breakups, and emotional frustrations resurface, humor and vulnerability intertwine in a playful yet intimate portrait of love and friendship. The film blends self-reflection, nostalgia, and queer identity in a sun-drenched urban setting.
