Directed by Sofia Coppola, The Virgin Suicides (1999) is a melancholic drama exploring adolescence, memory, and idealized longing. Based on the novel by Jeffrey Eugenides, the film is told through the collective memories of neighborhood boys obsessed with the enigmatic Lisbon sisters. Known for its dreamlike tone and emotional distance, it has become a defining work of late-1990s American indie cinema.
