Directed by Kentaro Hagiwara, Tokyo Ghoul stars Masataka Kubota as Ken Kaneki, a university student transformed into a half-human, half-ghoul hybrid after surviving an attack by the mysterious Rize, played by Yū Aoi. Unable to eat ordinary food and forced to confront his hunger for human flesh, Kaneki is introduced to the hidden ghoul community at the Anteiku café by Touka Kirishima, played by Fumika Shimizu. Based on Sui Ishidas manga, the Japanese live-action adaptation combines supernatural horror, dark fantasy and action as Kaneki becomes caught between Tokyos ghouls and the investigators hunting them
