Directed by Christopher Guest and starring Eugene Levy, Catherine OHara and Fred Willard, Waiting for Guffman is a mockumentary comedy about an amateur theater production in a small American town. The film follows eccentric performers and organizers preparing a local musical in the hope that a visiting Broadway producer might attend opening night. The film became an important part of Christopher Guests improvisation-driven ensemble comedies of the 1990s.
