Our 7-layer weighted blanket contains small glass beads with a diameter of about 1 mm. You won't notice the small glass beads at all as they are wrapped in POLYESTER fibers, and the beads therefore do not make any noise. The size and distribution of the small micro glass beads make the weighted blanket fall tightly and heavily around the body.

What is it?

A weighted blanket is a blanket with heavier filling. The extra weight gives your body a comfortable and relaxing pressure when you lie down to rest. The effect of the weight from the blanket creates pressure on the skin, this stimulates deep skin receptors and signals to our endocrine system that it must produce and release feel-good hormones such as melatonin, serotonin and oxytocin, and reduce cortisol, which is the body's most common stress hormone.

If you are considering getting a weighted blanket, we recommend that you find a blanket that can be shaped around the body in the best possible way. Therefore, it can often be an advantage if the weighted blanket consists of small movable beads / balls that allow the blanket to be shaped around the body and that follow movements.

Maintenance

The weighted blanket cannot be machine washed or tumble dried, therefore it is always recommended to use a duvet cover. Should be aired and brushed (do not beat or vacuum it).
