Daniel Manns Willard (1971), based on Stephen Gilberts novel, stars Bruce Davison as a lonely young man who discovers he can command an army of rats. Blending psychological horror, creature terror, and revenge thriller elements, the film became a cult classic of 1970s horror and launched a wave of animal-attack cinema.

Not much is going right for meek misfit Willard Stiles. Hes constantly screamed at by his overbearing mother, ruthlessly bullied by the boss who stole his fathers business and mercilessly laughed at by his co-workers. Willard eventually turns to a colony of rats for friendship and with training they will soon do anything for their new friend. Its time for Willard to get even.
