LEGO Architecture 21042 Frihetsgudinnan

Fun build overall, but like many sets I’ve purchased directly from LEGO, it was missing pieces at critical points in the build. I ordered them through the online reclamation process, but this is getting very annoying that every other $100+ set I purchase from LEGO I have to stop the build and order missing pieces.

This is only my second Lego set that I have ever built. The first one was the Saturn V rocket, and I think that one was slightly better than this one but overall this was a very fun set. The experience of building this was very unique and it was not repetitive, the top was especially challenging. The reason why I say that the other set was better was because Lego made a few instructional errors on the last bag in regards how to put this together/it was unclear or something, anyways I was able to get it put together but this was something that lego should have caught. Secondly, the face of the model should have been designed better, I felt like it was so intriquitely designed and then you get to the face and it's just a flat piece? Doesn't make sense, it could have been a few triangular pieces to give it some substance. Anyways, these are very minor complaints to an overall very fun project that was most definitely worth the time and money spent on it. I will definitely rebuild it in the future!

This is one of my top 3 builds. It has a lot of ways to make you think. All of the pieces fit perfect. The platform is very sturdy and a little repetitive, but nothing like the empire state building. I would recommend this build to a historian, decorative item for living area. The great thing about this item besides the look is the book. All of the information on the history is a great way for parents to teach their kids. Only one draw back, the face but can't notice away only up close. The build of the pedestal is very repetitive and wasn’t really fun as everything had to be done 4 times because it’s 4 sides. However, it’s very detailed, even the statue. The folds in the clothes, the crown, the right leg, the torch, all very nice, except for the face, which is a let down, being just one shield piece. Swapped some of the parts from the back of the dress to get the face more convex and the T-shape between the pieces suggest brow and centerline of face. The chin is subtly squared off, which is better. It’s not a huge improvement, but it’s better. I’ve seen other mods that give the face a nose, but it looks like a Moai head statue, lol.
