Directed by Edward Berger, Conclave stars Ralph Fiennes as Cardinal Lawrence, who is tasked with overseeing the secret election of a new pope after the death of the pontiff. Based on Robert Harris book Conclave, the film follows the rival candidates, hidden scandals and institutional pressure inside one of the Catholic Churchs most guarded rituals. Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini co-star in this Vatican-set political thriller, which won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and received multiple Oscar and BAFTA nominations.
