Roger Donaldsons Species (1995) is sleek sci-fi horror built on H.R. Gigers alien eroticism. When a half-human, half-alien hybrid escapes a government lab and begins hunting mates to breed, a team of scientists and a psychic track her across Los Angeles. Equal parts Alien and Basic Instinct, its 1990s bio-tech horror at its most seductive and lethal.

Peter Medaks Species II (1998) ups the gore and sex: an astronaut returns from Mars infected with alien DNA and begins spawning a new hybrid race. While scientists scramble to stop him, Sils clone Eve senses the mating call. Visceral, outrageous, and more splatter-driven than the first, its cult 1990s sci-fi horror excess.

Brad Turners Species III (2004) continues the genetic nightmare as a new hybrid female escapes into rural America, hunted by both scientists and evolving offspring. Lower-budget but faithful to the formula, it leans into lab-horror experimentation and survival chase dynamics.

Nick Lyons Species: The Awakening (2007) reboots the saga with a new female hybrid unaware of her alien nature until it violently surfaces. Set in Mexico, it shifts tone toward tragic body horror and erotic mutation, closing the series in lurid, low-budget style.

Starring Ben Kingsley (GANDHI, SEXY BEAST), Alfred Molina (SPIDER-MAN 2, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK) and Natasha Henstridge in her debut performance, the original Species was an impressive mix of science fiction and body horror, inspired by the likes of ALIEN and the work of David Cronenberg. Its success encouraged a run of entertaining sequels and the franchise has long been a favourite of cult film enthusiasts everywhere. 

This beautiful set contains all four movies including SPECIES, SPECIES II, SPECIES III and SPECIES: THE AWAKENING in a superb presentation replete with extras, insights and interviews.
