Sci-fi special produced by Gerry Anderson which was intended to be the pilot episode for a series that was never made. With Earth's environment so badly damaged that the future of humanity is threatened, the science vessel Altares is sent to Alpha Centauri to search for a new home. However, when the ship is damaged, it is unable to escape the pull of a black hole and the crew find themselves alone in another universe with no way home.
